Medications such as benzodiazepines and stimulants are strictly regulated by the DEA. While these drugs can be highly effective when appropriately prescribed, they necessitate frequent monitoring and must be integrated into a thorough treatment strategy. Controlled substances cannot be refilled before their due time and require a scheduled appointment for any refills.
This practice employs the NYS Prescription Monitoring Program, a comprehensive statewide database that tracks the prescription history of controlled substances for individuals. This system aims to reduce misuse and diversion of these medications by providing healthcare providers with information about both current and previous prescriptions, thereby enhancing the safety and efficacy of medication prescribing.
NO CONTROLLED SUBSTANCES WILL BE PRESCRIBED BETWEEN APPOINTMENTS
