A psychiatric evaluation is a comprehensive assessment that involves a clinical interview and mental status examination to gather information about personal and family history, current symptoms, and life events. Collaboration with other health care professionals, family members and caregivers is often used to gather information. My treatment approach is centered on prioritizing the patient's needs and well-being. I believe in a holistic approach that takes into account various aspects of mental, emotional, functional, spiritual, social, and community functioning for overall health and wellness. Together, we will work towards enhancing lifestyle factors such as sleep, nutrition, exercise, and social support which can lead to significant improvements in the quality of life.
To ensure the effectiveness of medications and treatment plans, it is crucial to have follow-up appointments for medication management. These appointments help monitor patient response and adjustments to the treatment plan will be made accordingly. Depending on the individual's needs and medication, the frequency of these appointments may vary. During these appointments, I often use various forms of therapy including CBT( cognitive behavioral therapy), DBT(dialectical behavioral therapy), supportive therapy, mindfulness, and motivational interviewing to create a safe space where patients can overcome negative thought and behavior patterns, leading to improvement in mental health.
